I am enjoying this camcorder!

I purchased the DCR-SR82 last Christmas because I was tired of spending $4.50 for each HI-8 tape I needed. I select Sony products specifically because their cameras have zero-lux "nightshot" infrared technology. My hobby is paranormal investigating and much of my work is done in the dark. On a typical investigation I could go through 3 or 4 tapes, so I figured the camcorder would pay for itself pretty quickly. I also was pleased to have upgraded to a smaller sized camcorder...they get heavy pretty quickly when you are walking around with them.

Pros: I like the hard-drive technology and the smaller size/lighter weight.

Cons: The infrared is not as strong as my old HI-8 Sony camcorder...I had to supplement with an additional infrared light.
